V empiričnem delu raziskave smo uporabili kvantitativno metodo raziskovanja, in sicer neeksperimentalno kvantitativno raziskovanje z uporabo primarno zbranih anketnih podatkov. Z deskriptivno analizo smo prikazali osnovne značilnosti vzorca in spremenljivk.

Abstract:The present doctoral dissertation is based on the study of theoretical principles of relevant literature and the research results on organic farms in Slovenia regarding factors and criteria of women's decision-making on the transition from conventional to organic farming. It gained scientific knowledge about the mechanisms of these decisions. Important pillars in the supportive environment for women's organic farming are system, grower/producer, and consumer. In this context, the dissertation provides a more precise definition and explanation of the importance of organic farming, provides an overview of the legislation of the Republic of Slovenia governing organic farming, defines the role of women in agriculture, and specifies and explains the factors influencing women's decision to transform conventional farming into organic. By formulating scientific knowledge about the mechanisms of women's decision-making on organic farming in the future, the present research provides women with a supportive environment regarding the possibility of deciding on organic farming. In the empirical part of the research, we used a quantitative research method, namely non-experimental quantitative research using primarily collected survey data. Descriptive analysis showed the essential characteristics of the sample and variables. Univariate statistics (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, asymmetry coefficient, and flatness coefficient) were used. In the dissertation, we filled the research gap, which also represents a basic contribution to science; i.e. the overcoming of the separate study of individual factors and criteria. Many factors influence the decision of women to switch from conventional to organic farming. We want to emphasize that we did not separate these factors, as can be seen from the studied literature, but researched selected factors and criteria together as a complex.
