Title:The impact of pelvic tilt on chronic low back pain
Abstract:Introduction and purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to review and present professional and scientific literature discussing pelvic tilt in connection with chronic low back pain. Methods: To study professional and scientific literature, a descriptive research method was adopted. In the search for professional literature, a database of cooperative research systems PubMed, PEDro, Google Scholar and COBBISS was used. Results: The reviewed studies suggest that anterior pelvic tilt affects chronic LBP, but it is also likely that chronic LBP leads to increased anterior pelvic tilt due to adjustments. Stretching and strengthening exercises of the trunk, hip and knee muscles reduce LBP, and according to most studies, they also help reduce excessive pelvic tilt. Usability: A presentation of recent literature discussing pelvic tilt in connection with chronic low back pain, and the influence of stretching and strengthening exercises on pelvic tilt. Limitations: The review is limited due to a scarce number of high-quality studies, unfinished studies, and a small sample used in some of the reviewed studies.
Keywords:posture, lumbar lordosis, sagittal balance, posture analysis, spino-pelvic alignment, global posture, posture measurements, pelvic tilt, chronic low back pain (CLBP), muscle length, muscle performance, posture exercises, muscle imbalance.
