Abstract:Razvoj zelenega gospodarstva bo zahteval vse več delovne sile, ki bo imela nova zelena znanja in veščine.

Abstract:The transition to a green economy requires a workforce with new green skills. The creation of new green jobs are expected, as well as the greening of existing ones. Therefore, if the education system does not adapt to the demands of a changing economy with green technologies and innovations introduced, the lack of green knowledge and skills in the community could be a major potential obstacle to the transition to a low-carbon society and economy. This is particularly important for key sectors for the transition to a low-carbon economy. In this paper, we present the background of greening education in the vision of lifelong learning, as a process that will include both formal and non-formal education and informal learning. We emphasized the importance of disseminating knowledge and skills on climate change and a low-carbon society, leading to greater adaptability and employability of a workforce enhanced by green knowledge and skills, as well as spreading environmental awareness in the community. We have defined the greening of education as a holistic process of introducing systemic changes in the education system, which will be able to meet the requirements of the development of a low-carbon, circular, green society and economy.
