Abstract:Zagotavljanje ustreznih ukrepov za prilagajanje in blaženje podnebnih sprememb predstavlja velik družbeni izziv pri prehodu v podnebno nevtralno družbo do sredine stoletja.

Abstract:Ensuring appropriate measures for adapting to and mitigating climate change is a major societal challenge in the transition to a climate-neutral society by mid-century. We should already be aware of this now, and even more so in the future, and focus on adapting to and mitigating climate change, especially on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The energy efficiency of buildings is of key importance for limiting greenhouse gas emissions. In the future, the European Commission wishes to increase the rate of the energy renovation of buildings with the Renovation Wave Strategy. Even though awareness about the effects of climate change is increasing throughout the world and in Slovenia, the public's awareness about specific climate changes remains poor. The main purpose of the diploma thesis was to determine how well people are aware of the importance of the effects of climate change on the building in which they live, and to determine their attitudes towards the energy renovation of the building in which they live. The thesis is made up of a review of the theoretical background and the existing legislation, and of original research conducted by means of the questioning or survey method. The conducted survey has shown that society is insufficiently aware of the importance of taking timely measures for adapting to and mitigating climate change in a built environment, and that it is insufficiently informed about the importance of energy renovations of buildings and of the diverse possibilities for funding the energy renovations of buildings.
