Abstract:Zaradi današnjega hitrega sloga življenja in iskanja hitrih rešitev in vedno večjega povpraševanja se trg s prehranskimi dopolnili hitro širi. Potrošniki morajo biti izredno previdni, kje nabavijo prehranska dopolnila, zakaj jih nabavijo in če jih sploh potrebujejo.

Title:Connection between a physiotherapeutic treatment with the use of nutritional supplements in women
Abstract:Due to today's fast-paced lifestyle, a search for quick solutions and a growing demand, the market for nutritional supplements is expanding rapidly. Consumers need to be extremely careful about where they buy nutritional supplements, why they buy them and if they need them at all. The purpose of the diploma thesis was to study nutritional supplements in providing comprehensive physiotherapy treatment. In addition, the purpose of the work was to study which dietary supplements are most often used by women between the ages of 25 and 55, why they use them and whether they notice any difference after use. In the diploma work we wanted to use the PubMed database to review various topics related to dietary supplements linked to exercise in women. As part of the research work, we compiled a questionnaire to find out how many women use dietary supplements, which ones, the reason why and for what period. The survey questionnaire was solved by 70 active members of the sports centre, aged between 25 and 55 years. 61% of respondents reportedly consume dietary supplements, 39% of them do not consume any dietary supplements. The respondents who consume nutritional supplements most often resort to vitamin D3, magnesium, collagen, vitamin C and Omega 3. The conclusions of the reviewed literature contribute to understanding the importance of nutritional supplements and a balanced and individually tailored diet for women. Due to key physiological differences between the sexes, these cause dietary inconsistencies, and differences in the concentration of sex hormones. These differences occur in women during the phases of the menstrual cycle, which are the result of fluctuations in hormone levels. Therefore, an appropriate individual diet for a woman is extremely important, and for this reason we must add appropriate nutritional supplements. Physiotherapeutic treatment must be individually tailored and include a holistic view of the patient, which includes a negligible nutritional status. Therapist, being a modern healthcare professional, must be educated enough to be able to understand, advise and guide patients towards a better lifestyle. Adequate lifestyle enables the success of physiotherapeutic treatment and brings a higher quality of life and fewer health problems or discomforts.
