Pri poškodbah hrbtenjače v spodnjem delu hrbta najpogosteje govorimo o sindromu caude equine. Namen fizioterapevtske obravnave je povrnitev funkcije, preprečevanje nastanka sekundarnih zapletov ter zmanjševanje bolečin in depresivnih motenj. Učinkovitost mnogih fizioterapevtskih metod in tehnik ni povsem znana, zato je namen diplomske naloge pregledati literaturo na temo njihove učinkovitosti in predlagati najučinkovitejši program fizioterapevtske obravnave pri bolnikih po poškodbi hrbtenjače v spodnjem delu hrbta. Metode: Diplomska naloga temelji na sistematičnem pregledu strokovne literature, ki smo jo pridobili v elektronskih bazah podatkov PubMed in Cochrane Library. Rezultati: Proučili smo 23 študij. Ugotovili smo, da visokokakovostnih študij, ki bi jasno potrdile učinkovitost fizioterapevtskih metod in tehnik pri zdravljenju poškodb hrbtenjače v spodnjem delu hrbta, primanjkuje. Uporabnost: Rezultati so uporabni pri izbiri metod in tehnik zdravljenja pri bolnikih s poškodbo hrbtenjače v spodnjem delu hrbta. Omejitve: Pregledane študije imajo majhno število vključenih preiskovancev ali raziskav ter kratek čas trajanja študij. Title:	Physiotherapy in patients with cauda equina injury
Abstract:	Introduction and purpose: Temporary or permanent disorder of bodily functions distal to the level of injury is characteristic of the spinal cord injury. The most common type of lumbar spinal cord injury is the cauda equina syndrome. The purpose of physiotherapy is to restore function, prevent possible secondary complications, and reduce pain and depressive disorders. There are many different physiotherapeutic methods and techniques without well-defined effectiveness. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is to review the literature on the effectiveness of physiotherapeutic methods and techniques. Furthermore, we want to propose the most effective treatment for patients with lumbar spinal cord injury. Methods: The thesis is based on a systematic review of the literature retrieved from the PubMed and Cochrane Library databases. Results: 23 studies were analysed. We found a lack of high-quality studies on lumbar spinal cord injuries treatment. Usability: Results from the literature analysis can be used when choosing the right treatment for lumbar spinal cord injuries. Limitations: The analysed studies had a small sample size or lack of researches and were of short duration.
