Abstract:Income inequality impacts a person as an individual and society as a whole from birth, as it largely depends on our family, the environment in which we are born and raised, the fortune we inherit, educational opportunities from early childhood to late adult years, provided health care, the situation on the labor market and other influences from the individual's environment. Due to the scale of its intervention, it also has a significant impact on the next generations, who, due to the unfavorable background of parents, cannot reach their full potential on their own, as children of parents with a more favorable background can do. The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the impact of income inequality on social mobility, education and life expectancy. To show its impact, we used the method of secondary analysis of available data in these areas. We found that it has the greatest impact on education, as it has the most links with all other areas and improving the quality of education and a longer period of education would have a positive impact on income inequality. Thus, in future generations, income inequality would not have as much of an impact on other areas and an individual’s achievements would depend on them and not on the background of parents and other circumstances
