Title:PREVENTION OF NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES OF SITTING LIFESTYLE WITH PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES
Abstract:Introduction and purpose: A sedentary lifestyle, often associated with a forced and physiologically inappropriate posture, is a risk factor for cardiovascular and other complications, especially bone and muscle deformities. The aim of this thesis is to present a physiotherapeutic technique to prevent the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle. Methods: We reviewed the PubMed, Pedro, and CINAHL databases for the last fifteen years. Results: The results show a reduction in pain, improved posture, and a lower risk of developing certain diseases due to the effects of physical activity in the workplace. Applicability: Research confirms that active breaks at work relieve pain in sedentary workers, prevent the development of bone and muscle deformities, and reduce the risk of developing certain diseases. Limitations: In the future, it would be advisable to collect a larger number of research findings describing the effects of physical activity on the negative consequences of a sedentary lifestyle.
