Abstract:Porod predstavlja veliko izkušnjo bolečine, ki spremlja normalen fiziološki proces poroda. Poznamo farmakološke in nefarmakološke metode lajšanja bolečine.

Title:The role of physiotherapy in relieving birth pain
Abstract:Childbirth represents a great experience of pain, which accompanies the normal physiological process of childbirth, is a gruelling physical and psychological experience and is a great burden on the body. Labour pain is a unique and complex sensory and emotional experience that differs from acute and chronic pain. Its appearance is influenced by various factors. Although the exact origin of the postnatal pain is not entirely clear, we assume that the main role is in its formation of lack of oxygen in the muscles, opening the uterus and the pressure of the fetus to the tissues. Experiencing pain also depends on the psychological preparation for childbirth itself and on cultural and social circumstances. The aim of childbirth is thus to minimise obobasitic pain, since in the event of non-treatment, it can have major negative effects on both the mother and the foetus. We know pharmacological and non- pharmacological methods of pain relief. Non- pharmacological methods also include physiotherapy techniques. Their advantage is that they can indent or interrupt the need to use invasive pharmacological analgesia. One of the more successful non-pharmacological methods is the use of a TENS device. In the area of non-pharmacological methods, it would make sense to educate as many maternity staff as possible in order to make them even more common. Individual treatment of obstetrician is important when using different methods. It must be motivated, willing to participate and communicate with the staff and follow the instructions given.
