Abstract:Uvod in namen: Namen diplomske naloge je pregled strokovne literature s področja fizioterapevtske obravnave (v nadaljevanju FO) v domu starejših občanov (v nadaljevanju DSO), predstaviti prednosti FO v DSO, predstaviti institucionalno varstvo v Sloveniji in obravnavati problematiko staranja prebivalstva. V empiričnem delu smo uporabili kvantitativno metodo raziskovanja.

Title:The study on users’ satisfaction of physiotherapy services in The Črnomelj Retirement Home
Abstract:Introduction and purpose: The aim of the bachelor thesis is the overview of academic and scientific literature in the field of physiotherapeutic treatment (hereinafter referred to as PT) in retirement homes (hereinafter referred to as RH), to present the advantages of PT in RH to present institutional care in Slovenia, and to deal with the issue of a continuously ageing population. Methods: The bachelor thesis consists of a theoretical section followed by practical research. For the overview of the already existent knowledge on the topic, the descriptive research method was used. The empirical part features a quantitative research method, while the survey was made by using the inductive and deductive method. Results: Based on research conducted for this thesis, it was concluded that the level of satisfaction with PT among the elderly in Črnomelj RH is high, as it ranked at 4.6 (92%). It was proven that, due to PT, the residents of Črnomelj RH are more independent in their everyday activities; their level of independence during everyday tasks increased by 25% when compared to their level of independence when admitted to RH. This also proved that PT increased the residents’ overall quality of life. Applicability: The research confirmed that the elderly are satisfied with PT in RH, as their physical condition improved, which was noticeable in their everyday activity performance as well as in their moving and walking abilities. Limitations: Because of the outdated literature and a small number of interviewees, these results cannot be generalised for the entire elderly population.
