Abstract:V naši diplomski nalogi smo obravnavali vprašanje položaja žensk iz Bosne in Hercegovine ob preselitvi v Republiko Slovenijo. Temu sledita metodološki del in raziskovalni del.

Title:The position of female immigrants from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republic of Slovenia : diploma thesis
Abstract:In our assignment, we addressed the issue of the situation of women from Bosnia and Herzegovina when they moved to the Republic of Slovenia. Considering that a large number of people immigrate to Slovenia every year, mainly from the countries of the former SFRY - including Bosnia and Herzegovina - we wanted to find out how migrants adapt to the new environment. We decided to study only the female population, as women are partly forced to move to Slovenia in order to be with their husbands and keep the family together. At the beginning, we presented the theoretical part, where various concepts related to our research are described. This is followed by the methodological part and the research part. We conducted the research with the help of a questionnaire, where we asked women from the Facebook group »Bosanke v Sloveniji« using a questionnaire. The group has 10,400 members, of different ages and from different places in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the work, we focus on women who came to Slovenia after 1991, i.e. after Slovenia's independence. The obtained results were compared with previous data and results of other authors obtained by reviewing the existing literature. We presented the obtained results graphically with the help of Excel. We have answered our research questions and finally we have given the conclusions and our findings of the research we have done. In the diploma thesis, we confirmed the hypothesis that for most migrant women, getting used to Slovenian culture was a problem and a challenge, and that the level of education affects a lower feeling of inferiority. Based on the results of the questionnaire, we rejected the hypothesis that immigrant women from Bosnia and Herzegovina are discriminated against on the basis of nationality.
