Abstract:Večina odraslih oseb s posebnimi potrebami je danes vključena v različne oblike institucionalne namestitve, kjer je velikokrat zaradi heterogenosti skupin, slabih smernic in premajhnega in neizobraţenega kadra okrnjena njihova obravnava. Celostna obravnava vključuje področja strokovne obravnave, namestitve, socialnega vključevanja, izobraţevanja in zaposlovanje ter vpliva na kakovost ţivljenja ciljne skupine. Podatki v raziskavi so pridobljeni s sekundarnimi in primarnimi viri ter z delno strukturiranimi odprtimi intervjuji in analizo le-teh z metodo kvalitativnega raziskovanja.

Title:Experiences of professional workers and special needs adults with comprehensive treatment in cudv radovljica : diploma thesis
Abstract:Nowadays, the majority of adults with special needs are included in various forms of institutional accommodation, where their treatment are often curtailed due to the heterogeneity of groups, poor guidelines and undersized and uneducated staff. Comprehensive treatment includes the areas of professional treatment, accommodation, social inclusion, education and employment, and affects the quality of life of the target group. The empirical part of the thesis contains qualitative analysis of holistic treatment of adults with special needs in the CUDV Radovljica, based on the experiences of professional workers and special needs adults themselves. Here, we are interested in the areas of social inclusion, inside and outside the institution, the meaning of employment, and the implementation of a lifelong learning. We are interested in the impact of the mentioned areas on the quality of their lives, and what are the differences in the perception between the two groups of the interviewees. The data in the research have been obtained from the secondary and the primary sources, as well as from the semi-structured open interviews and their analysis, using the method of qualitative research. The research findings indicate that the comprehensive treatment of adults with special needs in CUDV Radovljica is largely adequate, with the possibility for improvements in social integration outside the institution and in the field of education. The most emphasis in the holistic treatment is in the area of basic care and employment. We also note that the adults with special needs perceive the integrated treatment well and are satisfied with the quality of their lives. We conclude that their quality of life is directly proportional to their holistic treatment, and the shortcomings manifest mainly as the lack of appropriate guidelines and legislation in the field of holistic treatment of adults with special needs. Our findings will contribute to a more appropriate comprehensive treatment of adults with special needs in other institutions and to a broader understanding of the needs of the target group.
