Title:Čuječnost kot orodje za blažitev anksioznih motenj

Abstract:Anksiozne motnje so poleg depresije v razvitem svetu najpogostejše motnje. V zadnjih letih število ljudi, ki se spopadajo z anksiozno motnjo, še narašča. Uporaba čuječnosti se je izkazala za učinkovito orodje pri blažitvi anksioznih motenj. Obstaja veliko različnih pristopov za učenje čuječnosti. V slovenskem prostoru se čuječnost izvaja v slopu kognitivno vedenjske terapije, ki jo imenujemo kognitivno vedenjska terapija, temelječa na čuječnosti. Med poznanimi pristopi učenja čuječnosti je osemtedenski tečaj čuječnosti, ki temelji na soočanju s stresom, tesnobo in bolečino (MBSR). V diplomski nalogi se sprašujemo, ali je uporaba čuječnosti učinkovita za blaženje anksioznih motenj. Osredotočili se bomo na notranje psihično stanje posameznika (anksiozne motnje) in na obvladovanje življenja ter soočanja z različnimi situacijami (čuječnost). Raziskavo smo izvedli na vzorcu petih oseb ženskega spola, ki so zbolele za anksiozno motnjo. Vse udeleženke raziskave so obiskovale kognitivno vedenjsko svetovanje, kjer so se naučile tehnik čuječnosti. S kvalitativno raziskovalno metodo smo s pomočjo izvedenih intervjujev skušali oceniti uporabo čuječnosti kot orodje za blažitev anksioznih motenj. Pet udeleženk smo spraševali o soočanju in obvladovanju anksiozne motnje pred uporabo čuječnosti, doživljanju prvega stika s čuječnostjo, soočanjem s samostojnim delom, ki ga zahteva čuječnost, pojavljanje anksioznih epizod ob uporabi čuječnosti in kako se je spremenil njihov svet kakovosti z uporabo čuječnosti. Udeleženkam je s pomočjo čuječnosti uspelo ublažiti simptome anksioznih motenj. S samo izvedbo vaj čuječnosti so imele v začetku nekaj težav, ki pa so jih z redno vadbo odpravile. Epizode anksioznih motenj se z uporabo čuječnosti zmanjšajo, ko se pojavijo, jih znajo hitreje obvladati. Spremeni se tudi njihov svet kakovosti, kot so povedale udeleženke, se je njihova kakovost življenja drastično spremenila. Ugotavljamo, da je uporaba čuječnosti blagodejno učinkovala na duševno zdravje udeleženk in posledično na njihovo kakovost življenja.

Title:Mindfulness as a tool for managing anxiety disorders
Abstract:Along with depression, anxiety disorders are the most common disorders in the developed world. In recent years, the number of people struggling with an anxiety disorder has been increasing. The use of mindfulness has proven to be an effective tool in alleviating anxiety disorders. There are many different approaches to learning mindfulness. In the Slovenian area, mindfulness is practiced in the form of cognitive-behavioural therapy, which is called cognitive-behavioural therapy based on mindfulness. Among the well-known approaches to learning mindfulness is an eight-week mindfulness course based on dealing with stress, anxiety and pain (MBSR). We will focus on the internal psychological state of the individual (anxiety disorders) and on managing life and dealing with different situations (mindfulness). The research was conducted on a sample of five women who suffered from an anxiety disorder. All research participants attended cognitive behavioural counselling, where they learned mindfulness techniques. Using a qualitative research method, we tried to evaluate the use of mindfulness as a tool for alleviating anxiety disorders with the help of interviews. We asked five participants about coping with and managing an anxiety disorder before using mindfulness, experiencing the first contact with mindfulness, coping with independent work required by mindfulness, the occurrence of anxiety episodes when using mindfulness, and how their world of quality changed with the use of mindfulness. The participants managed to alleviate the symptoms of anxiety disorders with the help of mindfulness. They had some problems in the beginning with just performing the mindfulness exercises, but they eliminated them with regular practice. Episodes of anxiety disorders are reduced by using mindfulness, and when they do occur, they can be managed more quickly. Their world of quality also changes, as the participants say, their quality of life has changed drastically. We conclude that the use of mindfulness had a beneficial effect on the mental health of the participants and consequently on their quality of life.
