Abstract:Uvod in namen: Fleksorji kolena imajo eno ključnih vlog pri stabilizaciji kolka in kolena. Metode: Pregled strokovne in znanstvene literature s pomočjo baz podatkov PubMed, Google Scholar, PEDpro in Cochrane Library. Rezultati: Na podlagi dvanajstih vključenih študij smo prišli do ugotovitve, da ustrezna kineziološka vadba zmanjša stopnjo in pogostost poškodbe fleksorjev kolena, medtem ko krioterapija s tehnikami raztezanja izboljšuje fleksibilnost in mišično togost fleksorjev kolena.

Title:Physiotherapy treatment of knee flexor muscles injuries in athletes
Abstract:Introduction and purpose: Knee flexors play a key role in stabilizing the hip and knee. Strength and flexibility are among the most important components for preventing knee flexor injuries, which occur in most cases due to excessive overload during eccentric contraction in the athletic population. Severe cases require surgical treatment, but most are resolved conservatively. The purpose of this thesis is based on a systematic review of the literature related to the physiotherapeutic management of knee flexor injuries in athletes. The goals were aimed at incorporating kinesiology exercises and cryotherapy with stretching techniques as effective methods in rehabilitation. Methods: A review of professional and scientific literature using the databases PubMed, Google Scholar, PEDpro, and Cochrane Library. All selected literature included articles no older than 2010. Results: Based on twelve included studies, we found that appropriate kinesiology exercises reduce the incidence and frequency of knee flexor injuries. Additionally cryotherapy with stretching techniques improves flexibility and muscle stiffness in knee flexors. Usability: Assisting physiotherapists in determining the most effective rehabilitation techniques and prevention of knee flexor injuries in both athletes and non-athletes, contributing to the development of preventive programs. Limitations: Although cryotherapy with stretching was effective, further research is needed to determine its impact on faster recovery of athletes from this type of injury.
