Title:Vpliv medkulturnih razlik na poslovanje slovenskih podjetij v tujini

Abstract:Kulturne razlike imajo velik vpliv na poslovanje podjetij v tujini. Za doseganje uspeha ter dolgoročno prisotnost podjetja na tujih trgih je zelo pomembno, da se na poslovanje v tujini dobro pripravi. Poleg političnega, gospodarskega in pravnega stanja v državi mora podjetje dobro spoznati tudi kulturo, značilnosti te kulture in osvojiti kompetenco medkulturnega komuniciranja. Dobro poznavanje kulturnih razlik lahko bistveno zmanjša možnost za nastanek konfliktov in pripomore k dolgoročnemu uspehu podjetja. Namen magistrske naloge je ugotoviti, kateri so ključni izzivi s katerimi se srečujejo slovenska podjetja, ki poslujejo v mednarodnem okolju s podjetji, ki prihajajo iz različnih kultur, ali imajo slovenska podjetja, ki poslujejo s kulturno različnimi državami več težav kot s tistimi, ki so nam kulturno podobna ter kakšen pomen imajo priprave podjetja na poslovanje z različnimi kulturami. V empiričnem delu je predstavljena raziskava, med slovenskimi podjetji, ki poslujejo v tujini. Za ta namen je bil oblikovan anketni vprašalnik, na katerega je odgovorilo 122 slovenskih podjetij, ki poslujejo s tujino in so objavljena na portalu SloExport. Rezultati so pokazali, da podjetja, ki večinoma poslujejo z geografsko bližjimi državami, kulturne razlike že dobro poznajo in se temu že nezavedno prilagajajo, med tem ko se tista podjetja, ki se usmerijo v bolj oddaljene države, srečajo z izzivi, ki jih prinese kulturna raznolikost. Vlaganje v razvoj in izobraževanje kadra ter krepitev kulturne občutljivosti je bistvenega pomena za uspeh. Ključni izzivi, s katerimi se anketirana podjetja soočajo pri poslovanju s tujino, so predvsem pravne narave, izpostavili pa so tudi razlike v načinu komuniciranja, prilagajanje lokalnim običajem, pomen hierarhije v družbi ter razlike v stopnji individualizma oz. kolektivizma v družbi. Vse to nakazuje, da so kulturne značilnosti pri poslovanju pomembne in jih je potrebno upoštevati za uspešno poslovanje.

Title:How Cultural Differences Affect the Performance of Slovenian Companies Abroad
Abstract:Cultural differences have a significant impact on the operations of companies abroad. To achieve success and maintain a long-term presence in foreign markets, it is crucial for companies to be well-prepared for international business. In addition to understanding the political, economic, and legal conditions of a country, companies must also thoroughly understand the local culture, its specific characteristics, and develop intercultural communication competences. A strong understanding of cultural differences can substantially reduce the risk of conflicts and contribute to the long-term success of the company. A The purpose of master's thesis is to identify the key challenges faced by Slovenian companies operating internationally with partners from diverse cultural backgrounds, to determine whether Slovenian companies encounter more difficulties when doing business with culturally different countries compared to those with cultural similarities, and to assess the importance of preparation for business across cultures. In the empirical part we present the research we conducted among Slovenian companies operation in the international sphere. For this purpose, a survey was conducted among 122 Slovenian companies engaged in international business and listed on the SloExport portal. The results showed that companies primarily operating with geographically closer countries are generally already well-acquainted with these differences and have already adapted to them. In contrast, companies entering more distant markets tend to face challenges brought on by cultural diversity. Investing in staff development and training, as well as strengthening cultural sensitivity, is essential for success. The key challenges that surveyed companies face in doing business abroad are primarily legal questions. However, results also highlighted differences in communication styles, the need to adapt to local customs, the importance of societal hierarchy, and differences in the degree of individualism versus collectivism in society. All of this indicates that cultural characteristics are an important factor in international business and must be taken into account to ensure success.
