Abstract:Uvod: Okužba s človeškim papiloma virusom (HPV) je ena najpogostejših prenosljivih okužb. V upravni enoti Lenart je najbolje precepljena Osnovna šola Sveta Ana s 65,8%, sledijo ji Jurovski dol z 65,3%, Cerkvenjak 64,6%, Voličina 59%, Benedikt 46,3%, Sveta Trojica 46% in Lenart 45,5%. Diskusija in zaključek: Cepljenje je zelo učinkovito, varno in je najpomembnejši ukrep za preprečevanje okužbe HPV. V državah z visoko precepljenostjo so se zmanjšale predrakave spremembe materničnega vratu in anogenitalnih bradavic.

Abstract:Introduction: Infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections. There are various genotypes of HPV, which is why it is important to be aware of the types of diseases this virus can cause. Protection and prevention of infection are essential. Research shows that vaccination against HPV is the most effective and safest method of preventing infection. The research problem focuses on understanding the factors that influence HPV vaccination coverage in the population and exploring the reasons for vaccine hesitancy in Slovenia. Methodology: By analyzing collected statistical data and examining 6th-grade students, we determined the HPV vaccination coverage in primary schools within the administrative unit of Lenart. Results: The results show that the Lenart administrative unit, with 54% of children vaccinated with the first dose of the HPV vaccine, ranks above the Slovenian national average. A significant share of this percentage is attributed to girls, whose vaccination coverage stands at 69.5%. Among the schools, Sveta Ana Primary School has the highest coverage at 65.8%, followed by Jurovski Dol (65.3%), Cerkvenjak (64.6%), Voličina (59%), Benedikt (46.3%), Sveta Trojica (46%), and Lenart (45.5%). Discussion and Conclusion: Vaccination is highly effective, safe, and the most important measure for preventing HPV infection. In countries with high vaccination rates, precancerous cervical lesions and anogenital warts have significantly decreased. Although HPV vaccination is available free of charge for both genders in Slovenia, doubts and hesitancy persist, especially among boys. Education and awareness are crucial and must be strengthened among parents and adolescents.
