Možnosti vzpostavitve duhovne oskrbe v armadi Republike Severne Makedonije
Liliana Brožič, Stjepan Domjančić, Oliver Andonov, 2025, original scientific article

Abstract: Prispevek obravnava duhovno oskrbo v Armadi Republike Severne Makedonije (ARSM) kot doslej neurejeno, a pomembno področje vojaške organizacije z vidika celostne skrbi za pripadnike oboroženih sil in človekovih pravic. S pomočjo zgodovinske, deskriptivne in analitične metode ter deduktivnega pristopa je predstavljena analiza zgodovinskega razvoja, pravnega okvira in stališč pripadnikov ARSM do duhovne oskrbe. Posebna pozornost je namenjena primerjalni analizi ureditev v Republiki Hrvaški in Republiki Sloveniji, kjer duhovna oskrba že deluje na temelju ustavnih določb in mednarodnih sporazumov. Ugotovitve kažejo, da v Makedoniji obstaja pravna in družbena podlaga za uvedbo vojaške duhovne oskrbe, vendar primanjkuje politične volje in institucionalne pobude.

Implementing smart technologies in rural elderly care: findings from an integrative literature review (2019.-2024.)
Željka Ostović, Ivan Pokec, David Bogataj, 2025, review article

Abstract: This paper explores the role of smart technologies in supporting elderly individuals, particularly those in rural areas, to enhance their quality of life, social inclusion, and independence. Based on an analysis of selected scientific articles, it has been established that smart technologies, such as telemedicine systems, smart sensors, and digital platforms for social support, hold significant potential for improving healthcare and social care services for older adults. These tools reduce loneliness, improve safety, and enable elderly individuals to remain in their homes longer. Nonetheless, implementation challenges remain, especially due to the digital divide and limited technical skills among older users. Further research should explore effective strategies for user education, infrastructure development, and long-term impact evaluation to maximize the benefits of smart technologies for the elderly population.

Application of machine learning method for hardness prediction of metal materials fabricated by 3D selective laser melting
Matej Babič, Roman Šturm, Mirosłav Rucki, Zbigniew Siemiątkowski, 2025, original scientific article

Abstract: In this article, models for prediction of surface hardness for SLM specimens are presented. In experiments, EOS Maraging Steel MS1 was processed using EOS M 290 3D printer via selective laser melting (SLM). To predict hardness of SLM specimens, several machine learning methods were applied, including genetic programming, neural network, multiple regression, k-nearest neighbors, support vector machine, logistic regression, and random forest. In the research, fractal geometry was used to characterize the complexity of SLM-shaped microstructures. It was found that fractal geometry combined with machine learning techniques together greatly improved our comprehension of the intricacies of surface analysis and provided highly efficient predictions. All the applied algorithms exhibited predictability above 90%, with the best average result of 98.7% for genetic programming.

Modeliranje topografskih lastnosti 3D tiskanih kovinskih materialov
Matej Babič, 2025, original scientific article

Abstract: Ta raziskava predstavlja prelomno metodo, ki združuje fraktale, teorijo omrežij in genetsko programiranje, z analizo topografije površine kovinskih aditivnih delov.

Technologies for monitoring biomarkers of aging: literature review and research agenda
Jurij Pivka, David Bogataj, 2025, review article

Abstract: Aging is a complex and dynamic process that, despite its naturalness, represents one of the greatest challenges of modern medicine. With advancing age, factors for the development of numerous chronic diseases appear, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and dementia. Understanding, monitoring and potentially slowing down these processes is becoming a key task of longevity science. Early detection of changes with aging plays a key role in this, as it allows for timely intervention, more effective treatment, improvement of quality of life and reduction of costs for the healthcare system. An important element of early diagnostics is individualized approaches based on the use of advanced technologies for monitoring biomarkers of aging. In the last decade, we have witnessed the rapid development of systems that use automated, invasive or non-invasive , and often continuous monitoring of various biomarkers . These include wearable devices, microfluidic and " lab -on-a- chip " systems, optical sensors and artificial intelligence that analyze biological data in real time. Such technologies are used to shift from classical reactive medicine to a proactive, personalized approach to health and longevity. The article presents known molecular, cellular and physiological biomarkers of aging, an overview of selected technologies for monitoring biomarkers of aging. We will focus on analyzing their reliability, clinical utility, and the difference between technologies that offer evidence-based value to the user and those that may lead to incorrect interpretations or decisions due to unreliable or misleading data.
