24. Characterization and comparative analysis of mechanical parameters of FDM- and SLA-printed ABS materialsElvis Hozdić, 2024 Opis: This research paper provides an in-depth examination of the mechanical characteristics of 3D-printed specimens made from acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and resins akin to ABS, with a focus on two widely used 3D printing methodologies: fused deposition modeling (FDM) and stereolithography (SLA). The study investigates how variations in 3D printing technology and infill density impact mechanical parameters such as Young’s modulus, tensile strength, strain, nominal strain at break, maximum displacement, and maximum force at break. Tensile testing was conducted to assess these critical parameters. The results indicate distinct differences in mechanical performance between FDM- and SLA-printed specimens, with SLA consistently showing superior mechanical parameters, especially in terms of tensile strength, displacement, and Young’s modulus. SLA-printed specimens at 30% infill density exhibited a 38.11% increase in average tensile strength compared to FDM counterparts and at 100% infill density, a 39.57% increase was observed. The average maximum displacement for SLA specimens at 30% infill density showed a 14.96% increase and at 100% infill density, a 30.32% increase was observed compared to FDM specimens. Additionally, the average Young’s modulus for SLA specimens at 30% infill density increased by 17.89% and at 100% infill density, a 13.48% increase was observed, highlighting the superior mechanical properties of SLA-printed ABS-like resin materials. In tensile testing, FDM-printed specimens with 30% infill density showed an average strain of 2.16% and at 100% infill density, a slightly higher deformation of 3.1% was recorded. Conversely, SLA-printed specimens at 30% infill density exhibited a strain of 2.24% and at 100% infill density, a higher strain value of 4.15% was observed. The comparison suggests that increasing the infill density in FDM does not significantly improve deformation resistance, while in SLA, it leads to a substantial increase in deformation, raising questions about the practicality of higher infill densities. The testing data underscore the impact of infill density on the average nominal strain at break, revealing improved performance in FDM and significant strain endurance in SLA. The study concludes that SLA technology offers clear advantages, making it a promising option for producing ABS and ABS-like resin materials with enhanced mechanical properties. 25. Revitalization of the Slovenian herbal market?Sabina Krsnik, Karmen Erjavec, 2021 Opis: Purpose – The study aims to identify the needs, barriers, and measures relevant for the revitalization of the herbal market in Slovenia. Design/Methodology/Approach – A mixed-methods approach was used in the study, with a quantitative online survey of Slovenian herbalists (N = 217) and in-depth interviews conducted with key Slovenian stakeholders in the field of herbalism (N = 18). Findings and Implications – Most Slovenian herbalists grow herbs as a hobby or as a supplementary farm activity; they have little land for growing herbs and thus also generate a low income. Most of them sell their products directly to consumers, with only one tenth selling herbs to retailers. As many as three quarters of the respondents are not a part of any organization which, along with lower prices, is the main barrier to a market revitalization. The in-depth interviews revealed a lack of interest in collaboration among herbalists because they find the existing situation to be sufficient to a certain extent, as demand is greater than their supply. The results show no evidence of an herbal market as it existed before Slovenia’s independence. Limitations – Since there is no census of Slovenian herbalists, the sample is not representative. Originality – There is a lack of understanding of the barriers to and measures for revitalizing the herbal market, especially in developed countries whose market was well developed decades ago, such as Slovenia. 26. Potential integration of metaverse, non-fungible tokens and sentiment analysis in quantitative tourism economic analysisSergej Gričar, Violeta Šugar, Tea Baldigara, Raffaella Folgieri, 2023 Opis: With the emergence of the metaverse, countries’ digital efforts to create tourism opportunities have given rise to the possibility of capitalising on digital content which, along with physical
tourism experiences, can generate further income and enhance a country’s reputation. Non-fungible
tokens (NFTs), a unique application of blockchain technology, offer an enabling technology in several
sectors, including tourism. Therefore, this study aims to explore the official tourism websites of
Croatia and Slovenia and analyse current NFT applications in tourism economics. The methodology
focuses explicitly on sentiment analysis, blockchain and machine learning. The paper introduces
various applications currently in place, including Slovenia’s “I Feel Nft” project. The research shows
that the main benefits of using NFT and sentiment analysis in the tourism economy are the promotion
and presentation of major tourist destinations, exhibitions, works of art, and companies’ products in
tokens, digital content and souvenirs. The adoption of sentiment analysis and NFTs in the tourism
economy is still open to proposals for implementing public quantitative data metrics. Therefore,
the scientific contribution of this research is essential in terms of operational recommendations and
defining metrics for measuring the effectiveness of those methodologies and their applications in
the tourism economy. On top of that, the practical contribution lies in monitoring the influx of
tourists, and highlighting their increase over time and the significance of new technology in time
series tourism research. Objavljeno: 04.01.2024; Ogledov: 36765; Prenosov: 11 Celotno besedilo (0,00 KB) Gradivo ima več datotek! Več...
