Opis:Izhodišča: Današnji napredek in kompleksnost zdravstvene oskrbe sta povzročila resne pomanjkljivosti v kakovosti oskrbe in varnosti pacientov. Rezultati ankete so bili prenešeni v program SPSS in analizirani s statističnimi testi. Rezultati so prikazani grafično in tabelarno. Kar zadeva prakso, lahko kakovost in varnost v zdravstvu povzroči izboljšanje kakovosti oskrbe, zmanjšanje neželenih dogodkov in povečanje zadovoljstva pacientov in medicinskih sester, zmanjšanje izgorelosti medicinskih sester.

Naslov:Nurse´s knowledge of quality and sfty in healthcare
Opis:Introduction: The current advances and complexity in healthcare have led to serious deficiencies in the quality of care and patient safety. Patient safety and quality of care are global demands that are at the forefront of political programs in the fields of health and social care policy agendas. The increasing debate about safety and quality in healthcare begs the question of whether healthcare professionals possess the knowledge and skills necessary to protect and improve the healthcare of patients. A lack of knowledge and skills among healthcare professionals has been identified as an important hindrance in the strive for healthcare quality improvement. New evidence even suggests that healthcare professionals may not be sufficiently qualified or have not received sufficient and necessary training to be able to improve the quality or safety of patients, which is an important fact in safety and quality in healthcare. The purpose of the research is to study the knowledge of nurses in the field of quality and safety in health care and determine how they assess the current state of quality and safety in health care and to determine the level of safety culture based on the results. Methods: For the research, a quantitative method of data collection was used. A survey was used as the measurement instrument, which allowed the study to disclose the level of knowledge of medical nurses from the fields of quality and safety in selected medical organizations. For the research, a questionnaire was used, which was designed based on prior studies. The sample in the study comprised medical nurses in medical organizations. The questionnaire was sent to the nurses in the sample. The survey was designed and set up in the online surveying tool, 1ka, and was, after obtaining prior consent from the chosen medical organizations, sent to professional emails of the medical nurses working in the medical organizations. The collaboration in the survey was voluntary and anonymous. The results of the survey were then imported into SPSS and analyzed with statistical methods. The results are depicted graphically and tabularly. Results: There were 100 properly completed surveys in the study. The great majority of the respondents correctly defined quality treatment. Most of them know that continuous quality improvement in healthcare includes training programs for healthcare professionals and healthcare coworkers. The knowledge of medical nurses on the quality and safety in the selected medical organizations is good, as 92% of respondents correctly defined what quality care is. The respondents rated safety and quality in their organizations with an average score of 3.85, which demonstrated that the quality and safety are relatively good but that they could be improved significantly. The respondents rate the safety climate in the selected medical organizations with a high score (4.57) on a five-point scale. The study also showed that more educated medical nurses in the selected medical organizations have more knowledge in the fields of quality and safety in medical organizations than less educated nurses. Discussion: The study provides new information on knowledge in the fields of quality and safety of medical nurses. Medical nurses have, in general, good knowledge in the given areas. However, we must be aware that it is not enough for greater safety and reduction of errors, as it is necessary to also utilize this knowledge, which can be the subject of further study. In terms of practice, quality and safety can result in improved quality of care, reduced number of adverse events, improved patient and nurse satisfaction, and reduced nurse burnout.
