Naslov:THE NURSES ROLE TO A PATIENT WITH A CARDIOVASCULAR CONDITION
Opis:Background: Cardiovascular diseases, such as heart failure, ischemic heart disease and arrhythmias, are one of the main causes of death worldwide and claim around 19.7 million lives annually. Cardiovascular diseases include diseases that affect the heart and/or blood vessels. With the progress of science and healthcare, they demand more and more time, specificity and knowledge from nurses. The role of these is essential to help these patients, of whom there are more and more, as they must be highly educated, physically and mentally able to endure all the challenges that the field brings, while at the same time staying up to date with new discoveries and successfully integrating them into the treatment of cardiovascular patients. The aim of the thesis is to investigate this role of the nurse in a patient with cardiovascular disease. Methods: A qualitative research approach and a descriptive method were used. The primary data for the analysis was obtained using the interview technique. The source of secondary data was also a review of professional and scientific, domestic and foreign literature obtained with the help of the Cobiss, Cinahl and PubMed databases. The sample included 6 graduate nurses aged 26 to 61 years who have at least one year of work experience in the field of working with patients with cardiovascular diseases. Results: According to the interviewees, the key duties of a nurse in treating a hospitalized cardiovascular patient are ECG measurement, vital functions measurement, and taking action in the event of their deviations, application of therapy and limiting fluid intake for patients with heart failure, and educational work. , educational work,. Among the obstacles, the worst are the lack of staff, too long waiting lines and relations with patients. The shortcomings of nurses are insufficient knowledge, experience and time for patients. In order to solve the obstacles and shortcomings, it is necessary to acquire staff, to establish one-on-one mentoring, which is performed by a nurse with at least 5 years of work experience, it is necessary to work on education both in school and with those already employed, and to arrange communication channels between all levels of healthcare. Discussion: We found that the most important task of a nurse for a patient with cardiovascular disease is educational work. The same applies to hospitalized patients. In addition, vital functions are also regularly measured. Among the most serious obstacles today are the lack of staff and excessively long waiting times, while nurses lack knowledge, experience and time. In order to be dismissed, it is essential that staff be recruited and better educated, which also applies to nurses who are already employed.
