Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Zaradi staranja prebivalstva so degenerativne spremembe kolenskega sklepa vse bolj prisotne.

Abstract:Theoretical Backgound: Due to the aging of the population, degenerative changes in the knee joint are increasingly present. Osteoarthritis and injuries to the menisci of the knee joint occur most often. Patients have many options for intervention, but one of the most effective is exercise therapy, which can restore the patient's independence and functionality. Purpose: With a detailed review of the selected literature on the topic of analyzing kinesiotherapy protocols for the elderly, we want to find out the most effective techniques for coping with the condition. Method: Literature was searched in Google Scholar, PubMed and ProQuest databases. We searched for articles from 2014 to 2024 that met the inclusion criteria. We qualitatively processed the obtained data. Results: 14 articles were included in the analysis, which met all the criteria and were also related to the field of research. We realized that there are different training protocols, but most of them are dominated by strength training. Discussion: Exercise protocols vary, but confirm that very good results can be achieved with conservative treatment. Strength exercise produces the best results, but water exercise, aerobic exercise, mobility exercise, proprioception and balance exercise are also suitable.
