Abstract:V magistrski nalogi smo preučevali povezanost stila navezanosti s kakovostjo partnerskih razmerij ter povezanost teh slogov z jedrnimi in vmesnimi prepričanji, kot jih obravnava kognitivno-vedenjska teorija (KVT), in njihov vpliv na vedenjske reakcije in čustva.

Title:ANALYSIS OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ATTACHMENT STYLE AND QUALITY OF PARTNERSHIP THROUGH THE LENS OF COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL THEORY
Abstract:In our master’s thesis, we examined the relationship between attachment styles and the quality of romantic relationships, as well as the connection of these styles with core and intermediate beliefs as addressed by cognitive-behavioral theory (CBT), and their impact on behavioral reactions and emotions. We used a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative methods. In the quantitative part, we used a Relationship Questionnaire to assess the predominant attachment styles among ten participants. Based on the results, we selected three individuals with different insecure attachment styles. These individuals were then invited to participate in semi-structured interviews (qualitative part), where we explored the connections between attachment style and intermediate and core beliefs, as well as the relationship between attachment style and the quality of romantic relationships. The study found that different attachment styles are associated with different intermediate and core beliefs. The connection between attachment style and relationship quality was evident only in some participants. The limitations of the study include the small sample size, which means that the findings cannot be generalized. Future research would benefit from including a larger sample and examining more attachment styles to better understand how attachment influences the quality of romantic relationships in a broader context. The practical implications of the research include the potential for better understanding behaviors and beliefs in counseling and psychotherapy processes, which can contribute to better support for individuals in managing relationship issues. Therapists can use the results to help improve romantic relationships by gaining a better understanding of the impact of attachment styles. Our findings can also serve as a basis for further research that deepens the understanding of attachment and romantic relationships. Individuals and couples can use our results to better understand their own attachment styles and beliefs and their impact on behavior and emotions, helping them improve their relationships.
