Abstract:Diplomsko delo raziskuje vpliv sistema vodenja kakovosti ISO 9001:2015 na zavzetost zaposlenih v izbranem javnem zdravstvenem zavodu. Obravnavani so kakovost, sistemi vodenja kakovosti, standard ISO 9001:2015 in kakovost v zdravstvu.

Abstract:The thesis explores the impact of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system on employee engagement in a selected public healthcare institution. It is based on the premise that employee engagement is crucial to organizational success, especially in the healthcare sector, where demanding work conditions often lead to low engagement levels. The theoretical part presents definitions, models, factors, and methods for measuring engagement; a comparison of engagement with related concepts; the impact of employee engagement on business outcomes; as well as global and Slovenian engagement trends. It also addresses quality, quality management systems, the ISO 9001:2015 standard, and quality in healthcare. The main theoretical chapter examines the theoretical framework of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and its impact on employee engagement. The empirical part of the thesis involved conducting a study in the selected public healthcare institution using employee surveys and interviews with key management personnel. The aim was to determine which elements of the quality management system have a positive or negative impact on employee engagement and to offer recommendations for promoting engagement within the framework of the quality management system. The results showed that the standard contributes to higher engagement primarily through task and role clarity, collaboration, professional development, and a sense of personal responsibility and contribution to shared outcomes. However, factors related to bureaucratic requirements can also reduce employee engagement. The thesis concludes with practical suggestions for improvements and directions for further research.
