V pregledanih raziskavah so bile vključene različne vrste in intenzivnosti aerobnih vadb.

Abstract:One in 10 people in the world will suffer from depression at least once in their lifetime. Depression causes problems in everyday life, as people with depression struggle with anxiety, sadness and frequent negative thoughts. As symptoms manifest not only cognitively but also physically, aerobic exercise plays a major role in treating and reducing symptoms. The aim of this thesis is to investigate and present the impact of aerobic exercise on depression, the extent to which exercise can be used to improve depressive symptoms, and the time it takes to notice changes in depressive symptomatology. The descriptive method was used to write the thesis, with a review and analysis method. Literature was collected using databases and the process of selecting relevant articles was illustrated using a PRIZMA diagram. The final number of selected articles is 9. The reviewed studies included different types and intensities of aerobic exercise. Different rating scales were used to obtain data and assess the impact of aerobic exercise on depressive symptoms. All studies showed a positive effect of aerobic exercise on reducing depressive symptoms. Due to the lack of studies that only include aerobic exercise and not also concomitant antidepressant treatment, we have insufficient data to say with certainty that aerobic exercise is an effective method of treatment for individual depressive symptoms. However, we can confirm that it can be a very effective supportive treatment method.
