Abstract:This master thesis examines the impact of teleworking on employee satisfaction and performance compared to traditional office work. In the context of changing working conditions during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, teleworking has become crucial for maintaining and improving business processes. The study covers two companies with different teleworking policies: one allows up to 60 days of teleworking per year, the other offers full flexibility. The empirical research involved a quantitative approach where the opinions and experiences of employees and managers were collected through an online survey. The findings show that more than half of the respondents believe that teleworking improves work-life balance, with all employees in company 2 and more than three-fifths of employees in company 1 highlighting this benefit. In addition, more than a third reported increased productivity, while almost a quarter saw no change. A small proportion of all perceived a decrease in productivity. There has also been a reduction in sickness absence, with almost two thirds of respondents acknowledging the impact of teleworking on their absence from work. company 1 has reduced the percentage of sickness absence from almost 10% in 2019 to less than half of this by 2023.
