Title:Vpliv tai chi vadbe v primerjavi s konvencionalnimi oblikami terapevtske vadbe na izboljšanje ravnotežja : pregled literature

Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Padci so na drugem mestu nenačrtovanih poškodb po vsem svetu. S smrtnim izidom se največkrat končajo pri osebah, starejših od 60 let. Svetovna zdravstvena organizacija za preprečevanje padcev poleg nekaterih drugih ukrepov svetuje vadbo za ravnotežje in tai chi. Ravnotežje pomeni sposobnost, ki nam omogoča stanje na mestu ali premikanje, ne da bi pri tem padli. Intervencije konvencionalne vadbe ravnotežja so do sedaj pokazale zmanjšanje števila oseb, ki doživijo padec. Nekatere študije so pokazale, da je tai chi učinkovit pri preprečevanju padcev in izboljšanju ravnotežja. Namen: Namen diplomksega dela je bil preučiti intervencije konvencionalne vadbe ravnotežja in vadbe tai chi ter primerjati njun vpliv na izboljšanje ravnotežja. Metode: Uporabljena je kvalitativna metodologija. V teoretičnem delu smo se osredotočili na deskripcijo ravnotežja in možnih intervencij za izboljšanje le-tega. V empiričnem delu smo uporabili kvalitativno metodo za analizo strokovnih študij, sistematičnih pregledov in metaanaliz. Rezultati: V natančno analizo smo zajeli 10 strokovnih člankov s skupno 49.540 preiskovanci, med katerimi so bile 3 randomizirane kontrolirane študije, 1 pilotna kontrolirana študija in 6 sistematičnih pregledov ter metaanaliz. V vseh študijah sta se obe skupini statistično značilno izboljšali v ravnotežju po izvedenih intervencijah v primerjavi z rezultati pred intervencijo. Tai chi je pokazal večja izboljšanja v 7 od 10 (70 %) raziskav. Razprava: Konvencionalna vadba ravnotežja in tai chi pozitivno vplivata na izboljšanje ravnotežja. V povprečju je tai chi pokazal večje izboljšave na ravnotežje kot konvencionalna terapevtska vadba.

Abstract:Theoretical Background: Falls are the second most common cause of unintentional injuries worldwide. They most frequently result in fatal outcomes for people over the age of 60. The World Health Organization, among other measures, recommends balance training and tai chi to prevent falls. Balance is the ability that allows us to stay in one place or move without falling. Conventional balance training interventions have so far shown a reduction in the number of people experiencing falls. Some studies have shown that tai chi is effective in preventing falls and improving balance. Aim: To examine interventions of conventional balance training and tai chi training and to compare their impact on balance improvement. Methods: A qualitative methodology was used. The theoretical part focused on the description of balance and possible interventions to improve it. In the empirical part, a qualitative method was used to analyze professional studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. Results: Detailed analysis included 10 articles with a total of 49.540 participants, comprising 3 randomized controlled trials, 1 pilot controlled study, and 6 systematic reviews and meta-analyses. In all studies, both groups showed statistically significant improvements in balance following the interventions compared to pre-intervention results. Tai chi demonstrated greater improvements in 7 out of 10 (70 %) studies. Discussion: Both conventional balance training and tai chi positively influence balance improvement. On average, tai chi showed greater improvements in balance than conventional therapeutic exercise.
