Abstract:Periferna arterijska bolezen je pomemben zdravstveni problem, saj prizadane petino starejšega prebivalstva v razvitih državah. Rezultate smo obdelali s pomočjo programa SPSS (Statistical package for the social sciences) in jih podali v obliki tabel.

Abstract:Peripheral arterial disease is one of the major worldwide diseases, where it causes narrowing or stenosis of the arteries. This leads to a decrease in blood flow to the lower limbs, which are the most often affected. It is important that peripheral arterial disease is properly diagnosed and treated, as uncontrolled disease can lead to serious health problems. The aim of the master's thesis was to compare the contractility of the gastrocnemius medialis and tibialis anterior muscles in patients with peripheral arterial disease before and after postoperative rehabilitation according to gender, age and weight. Methodology: A descriptive research method was used in the theoretical part of the research and a quantitative research method was used in the empirical part of the research. In the latter part, tensiomyography was used as a measuring instrument. The data was obtained from patients who performed a physiotherapeutic medical service in a medical institution with the help of the participating physiotherapists. The results were processed with the use of the SPSS program (Statistical package for the social sciences) and then presented in the master's thesis in the form of tables. Results: In this study 17 respondents were included and of these, 14 were male respondents and three were female respondents ranging from 47 to 81 years old. With the help of quantitative analysis, we found that surgery of peripheral arterial disease, which followed postoperative rehabilitation in hospital and at home, affects the reduction of fatigue of the gastrocnemius medialis and tibialis anterior muscles. Discussion: Based on the results of our research, we can state that there are age- and weight-dependent differences in the contractility of the gastrocnemius medialis and tibialis anterior muscles. Our research provides a good basis for further more in-depth research.
