Abstract:Uvod in namen: Srčno popuščanje je napredujoče obolenje z visoko pojavnostjo v populaciji, smrtnostjo in stopnjujočim se bremenom na zdravstveni sistem. S pomočjo podatkovnih zbirk Pubmed, PEDro, Cochraine Library, MEDLINE in Google Scholar smo prišli do ustrezne in zadostne literature, s katero smo uspešno obravnavali hipotezi.

Title:Changes in maximal oxygen uptake and its predictive value in patients with heart failure
Abstract:Introduction and purpose: Heart failure is a progressive condition with a high incidence, mortality rates, and a growing burden on healthcare systems. One of the primary clinical characteristics of HF is exercise intolerance, which results from a decline in maximal aerobic capacity. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between heart failure and the reduction in maximal aerobic capacity, as well as to assess its prognostic value in the affected population. Methods: For the purpose of this thesis, a descriptive research method was employed, incorporating a literature review to examine the proposed hypotheses. Relevant and sufficient literature was obtained through database searches in PubMed, PEDro, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, and Google Scholar. These sources provided the necessary data to adequately address and evaluate the hypotheses. Results: Through a comprehensive literature review and analysis of the collected data, both hypotheses were confirmed. Specifically, the findings support that heart failure leads to a decline in maximal aerobic capacity and that a higher maximal aerobic capacity predicts a favorable prognosis in patients with heart failure.Usability: The results of this thesis contribute to a deeper understanding of the relationship between heart failure and maximal aerobic capacity. Limitations: Certain studies that could have enriched the dataset and provided additional valuable insights were either behind paywalls or fell outside the designated time frame for the reviewed research.
Keywords:Key words: Heart failure, maximal aerobic capacity, prognostic value, mortality.
