Metoda: uporabili smo kvalitativni raziskovalni pristop z deskriptivno metodo, metodo kompilacije in analize.

Abstract:Introduction: Palliative care is the care of a patient with a chronic non-communicable disease that aims to improve the quality of life. The collaboration also involves a nurse who specializes in working with palliative patients and plays one of the key roles in the treatment of these patients, as well as experts from other fields. Purpose: to obtain information about the role of a nurse in a terminally ill or palliative patient. Method: we used a qualitative research approach with a descriptive method, a compilation and analysis method. The empirical part of the final work was carried out with a systematic literature review and presented with an integrative approach according to the PRISMA methodology. The findings were compared with the comparison method and finally, the key features were summarized with the synthesis method. Results: When reviewing the research articles, 18 studies were suitable for our final work, with which we answered our research questions: "What is the role of the nurse in the comprehensive treatment of the palliative patient?" and "How does the nurse's communication affect the quality of life of the palliative patient and his relatives?" Discussion: The nurse observes the patient, identifies his problems and manages and reduces them. She is at the same time a teacher and advocate, a provider of health care in all life activities, as well as a pillar of support for the patient's loved ones. She must establish trusting, respectful, empathetic and understandable communication with the patient and his relatives.
