Abstract:Many organizations introduce new information systems (ICT-based technology) as part of a major organizational changes in the company. For many years, those systems are developed for each firm, because of the specificity and desires. Development was either homemade or has been the domain of specialized companies for the development of system applications (outsourced). It was based on the methods of software development known as »greenfield« (development from scratch) in special cases, which are dictated by the nature of existing software solution, method »brownfield« (existing solutions must be taken into account and implemented in the newly created system). So the implementation of the new information system is based on the business basic desire to become a successful and competitive player in the area of its operations. The success of the ERP system introduction is influenced by critical success factors (CSF), as numerous studies have shown, especially by overcoming the financial and time frame obstacles. We took a closer look at smaller (for the Slovenian situation, you could even say medium sized company) family business and their replacement of enterprise resource planning system (ERP).
