V poglavju »znanstvena izhodišča« raziskavo uvrstimo v smiseln raziskovalni prostor in ji na podlagi obravnave že obstoječih raziskav s tega področja pripišemo pomen in zagotovimo verodostojnost. V zaključku naloge predstavimo ugotovitve in sklepne misli.

Abstract:The thesis discusses japanese comic books or mangas and japanese animated movies or animes in relation to japanese culture, religion and mythology. The aim of this paper is to determine whether japanese traditonal culture can be detected in animes and mangas. In the chapter »scientific grounds«, we place the research into a meaningful research area. We present previous research conducted in this area, on the basis of which we define the purpose of our research and ensure its credibility. In the continuation, we focus on the literature review in the area of popular japanese culture and provide definitions for the terms used in the paper. In the first part of the literature review, we present a short historic overview of japanese culturally richest periods, however, in the following lines, japanese mythology and religion (more specifically, Shinto) are presented. The chapter »modern popular culture« focuses on the description of japanese anime and manga in relation to the culture established among its audience. The empirical part of our thesis comprehends the analysis of four examples of japanese animation. The analysis was conducted through a semiotic research of images using a computer programme ATLAS.ti, a tool for qualitative analysis. The results are first presented in a graph with appropriate interpretations for each example separately, however, in the continuation a synthesis including all the examples is given. In the conclusion, we present our findings and conclusions.
