Abstract:V Sloveniji ţivi veliko potomcev priseljencev iz Bosne in Hercegovine (v nadaljevanju BiH), ki so bili po razpadu nekdanje skupne drţave Jugoslavije prisiljeni zaradi vojne zapustiti svoje domove.

Abstract:In Slovenia live many descendants of immigrants from Bosnia and Hercegovina (hereinafter BaH), who were after the disintegration of the former joint country Yugoslavia forced to leave their homes due to war. They created a new life for themselves in Slovenia, where they got their children or their children were very young, when they came together to Slovenia. We call them the second generation of immigrants. After the war, the migrations did not stop. The reason for this is the economic situation in the home country, in our case in BaH. A lot of economic immigrants from BaH come to Slovenia for a better life, which means that we are talking about first generation immigrants. In the thesis, we research the relations between Slovenians and the first or second generation of immigrants from BaH. We analyse, if there are differences in these relations, which factors influence these relations and if language is a crucial factor. It is important to mention that with the first generations of immigrants, in our case, we mean economic immigrants and that in this thesis, we focus on the first and second generation of immigrants from BaH, regardless of their ethnicity and religion. With the help of qualitative analysis or focus groups we obtain data, important for the thesis. We find that in all three focus groups, language appears as the crucial factor of friction in the relations, as well as one of the factors, which influence the relations. We also find that there are no big differences in relations between Slovenians and first and second generation immigrants, but there are some unpleasant experiences, which the first generation encountered in contact with the second generation. Focus groups provide a better insight into the topic, although we cannot generalize the obtained data onto the entire population of Slovenians and first and second generation immigrants from BaH. Based on the obtained data, we gain insight into the experience, life and thinking of respondents of the focused groups.
