Title:INJURY PREVENTION FOR PREOFFESIONAL ROAD CYCLIST AND NUTRITION SUPPORT
Abstract:The purpose of this undergraduate thesis is to conduct a broad literature review on injury prevention in professional cyclists, including a holistic physical therapy approach as well as nutritional supplementation. Throughout the review, I extract the most common injuries in cycling and divided them into overuse and acute injuries. A preventative programme with which the occurrence of overuse injuries may be diminished is included. In the second part, I describe an overview on nutritional supplements which may also play a role in decreasing the onset of injuries.
Keywords:Cyclist overload and fatigue, professional cyclist injuries, endurance load in professional cyclists, cycling injuries prevention, nutritional supplementation
